Someone is missing??

About 5 years ago I had the distinct impression that someone was missing from our family. I didn't have this feeling with any of my other children. At that time Kennedy was 4 years old and we really hadn't discussed whether or not we would have another child. I had some medical concerns with another Cesarean Delivery even though all the others had been extremely successful.
So one day shortly following my impression I ask Shawn if he felt like someone was missing. Of course he had some quick witted response but ultimately he agreed that he did not feel that our family was complete.

4 years ago today we welcomed Ryker Shawn into our home. He is a bright spot in our home. He is definitely the baby in the family. He is definitely loved. He is definitely spoiled despite my constant denial that I am the main cause of that. He definitely was the missing member of our family. I can't imagine my home without his sweet words of "I Love You, " shouted in the middle of Sacrament meeting and his never ending kisses. If you tell him Thank You after a kiss you get another one so it can be quite a long process at times.

If you have read previous posts you will also note that he is in touch with both of his feminine and masculine sides. He absolutely loves Little Mermaid and can't live without Lightning McQueen. He can take on the oldest boys in our family and come out on top as well as play dress up with his best friend Ami.

We love having Ryker in our family and feel so blessed to be able to watch him grow and develop.

We love you Ryker. Happy Birthday!!

He's such a cutie! What a fun story about sensing that he was missing. THat's adorable about the never ending kisses & thank yous!! They sure grow up fast. I remember back in 06 when we were in the ward that I would steal him from you & snuggle him for a bit. At that time he reminded me a lot of my brother when he was a baby! Happy Birthday Ryker!!

When I first started reading this I thought that you were trying to tell us that "Someone is STILL missing". Maybe breaking some big news! :) Adopting or had another in secret. Who knows?! Ryker reminds me so much of Matthew, I can't help but feel like I know the kid!
