Over the years our family has had many home teachers (2 priesthood holders from church who come and visit us monthly and teach our family gosptel lessons), but the hometeachers we have now really have a special place in my heart. Last night when they came our children were calm and for the most part attentive. We had a lengthy discussion about the prophet Joseph Smith and the restoration. I think my children learned more from our home teacher last night then probably all the years we've been having family home evening.
I also love our home teacher because he gives us a challenge regularly depending on what we need. They are individual challenges. Last month I loved the challenge because it was on journal writing and he agreed with me that a blog was journal writing. YIPEE!!! Last night when I reported that I was doing well on my journal writing he decided to give me a new challenge....I shouldn't have bragged!!! He challenged me to have better scripture study by following the scripture chain in the sunday school lesson. That will be a good one for me and hopefully I will be able to give a good report next month.
I feel blessed to have home teachers who look to Heavenly Father for ways to help our little family grow in the gospel and help us work towards becoming an eternal family.
Thanks Brother M. and Brother B.
Happiness is the object and design of our existence. Even when times are tough if we live the FAB FIVE we will find joy and happiness in all that we do.

Joella, I didn't know you had a blog. I saw your comment on Amy''s blog and clicked over here. Your boys and Kennedy have gotten so big! I can't believe it! Well, I guess I can. :)
I've got a blog too...I've been plugging away at it for about 3 years now. Anyway, it is private, so if you'd like an invite...send me an email.
Oh, and congrats on doing well with your journaling! :)
Joella! Hello! So glad I found your blog! I was thrilled to have heard from you on mine and it's fun to be back in touch. Your family is darling - how in the world did your boys get to be so big?! Crazy how time flies and how I still remember New Orleans like it was yesterday. I'm so glad I met you there. I always thought you were the coolest mom and it's funny that now my boys are the same ages that yours were back then. Maybe I will follow in your footsteps and get a little Kennedy of my own! We find out on March 14 what our 4th child will be. Probably a boy ... :)
Sending lots of love to all the Shanklins! Please keep in touch!
