What's the cure?

At the end of February our family planned a trip to St. Louis (3.5 hours away) so Shawn, Brady, Justin and I could attend the temple. Our plan was to leave friday right after school. On thursday morning Ryker woke up with 102 fever. Thursday afternoon I called Shawn and asked him to call our home teacher so they could give him a blessing. That evening the blessing occurred and a small miracle happened and on Friday morning Ryker woke up fine and we were able to attend the temple.

Well yesterday morning Ryker woke up and again had a 102 fever and he was very miserable. He had a sore throat and didn't want to eat anything. The only thing he wanted was a grape soda but he didn't drink much of that. He slept most of the morning and in the early afternoon he asked me if he could get a blessing. So I called Shawn and gave him Rykers request. While he waited for his dad I ask him if he wanted to take some more medicine. He said, "Isn't dad going to give me a blessing?" I told him, "yes." He replied, "then I don't need any medicine." Shawn wasn't able to make it home until 8:00 and about 8:15 a friend of ours from church came over and helped Shawn give Ryker the blessing.

Ryker fell asleep shortly thereafter and then about 6:00 this morning he got up and got some more of the grape soda and went back to bed until 10:45. WOW!! Another small miracle. When he woke up I ask him how he was feeling. He said, "GOOD." I said, "That's great, that priesthood blessing worked." He replied, "Oh, I think it was the grape soda I had this morning, those blessings don't work on me."

Of course I gently reminded him of the wonderful power of the priesthood and that indeed it was the priesthood that had healed him and not the grape soda.

That is so funny! The fact that he requested the blessing, denied medicine, and then still said it was the soda. So four-year-old!
We sure miss you guys!
