Okay for those of you who don't know who Lightning McQueen is I will give you a brief tutorial. In the movie CARS there is a rookie race car and his name is Lightning McQueen. He is of course the star of the show. Well Ryker absolutely loves the movie and his favorite is Lightning. He has many cars from the show but his two favorites are his blue Lightning and his red Lightning. They go everywhere with us. On Sunday we had Stake Conference and they got left at church so in the middle of preparing Easter dinner I made a trip back to church to get them. Then on Monday morning Ryker woke up and he could only find his red lightning. Literally we spent all morning looking for blue Lightning. We called Dad at work, we called the family who came for Easter dinner to make sure it didn't end up in their diaper bag, we looked in the same place 42 times. Finally about 12:00pm Ryker had a melt down and he wouldn't get in the car to go to the store for some food....which we desperately needed.
I know there are many of you thinking why not just make the kid get in his car seat and go to the store. Well I decided that if I wanted to have a semi-productive trip to the grocery store than we should start out on a good note...hence my willingness to wait it out.
So we went back inside and started looking again. I'm a slow learner but I finally thought well I guess Heavenly Father cares about Lightning McQueen so I'm going to say a prayer. In the middle of the prayer Ryker came in, he waited until I was done and ask me what I was doing. I told him I was saying a prayer so that we could find Lightning so we could go to the store. He said "Oh" and continued playing in his room. I decided to go to the family room and look through this giant back of marble toys and in the middle of emptying out Ryker came running in the room-"I found Lightning, I found Lightning--now we can go." I just gave him a big hug and kiss and said let's go but not before I thanked Heavenly Father for caring about Lightning McQueen.
